ScalaHosting Introduces SPanel-Powered Shared and Email Hosting Plans
2024 was a busy year at ScalaHosting. Our expanding customer base presented us with a challenge: serving all these new clients while maintaining the quality standards we’ve been striving for over the years.
Did we do it?
The countless positive reviews on platforms like TrustPilot and G2 suggest we did a good job. This makes us immensely proud and motivates us to continue working in that direction.
However, we’ve also been pursuing another goal over the years: turning SPanel into the world’s leading web hosting control panel. At the start of 2025, we’re moving one step closer to that objective by introducing it to shared and email hosting users.
SPanel-Powered Shared and Email Hosting Plans Coming Soon to ScalaHosting Customers
Currently, all ScalaHosting shared and email hosting packages are based on cPanel. Starting January 15, however, solutions offering even better performance and functionality will be available with SPanel – our proprietary web hosting control panel.
The option will initially be offered to existing customers only. Between January 15 and March 1, they will receive an email notification containing details about the offer and instructions on how to take advantage. Our technical support specialists will be in charge of completing the migration and ensuring it’s completely seamless. The transfer is completely free and will result in no downtime.
Later in the year, new customers will also be able to start their projects on SPanel-powered shared and email hosting solutions.
cPanel-based plans will remain available to those who prefer to use this option.
Why SPanel?
One of the main advantages of using SPanel for your ScalaHosting shared or email hosting account is that we won’t charge you any licensing fees. Our control panel is integrated into your service and doesn’t cost extra money. This eliminates one of the factors contributing to your hosting fees and makes your hosting costs more predictable.
But this would mean nothing if SPanel isn’t up to the job.
Ultimately, SPanel aims to do better than every management platform of this kind: providing users with an intuitive interface through which they can build a website, deploy an application, and manage their business email communication. One crucial thing sets our control panel apart – its development is almost entirely community-driven.
SPanel has a unique feature request platform where users can suggest tools that should be included in our control panel. The proposed features that attract the most interest from other website owners are put in the development pipeline and eventually make their way to the final product.
Why have we chosen such an approach?
The people who use SPanel every day are best positioned to tell us what’s missing. We’re building the control panel for them, so letting them steer the platform in the right direction is a no-brainer.
Thanks to their feedback, we have created a control panel that helps you with every single aspect of your project’s development, including:
- Business email management.
SPanel has every tool you could imagine for creating business email inboxes and managing incoming and outgoing communication.
- Creating, modifying, and removing files and databases
A unique File Manager gives you quick and easy control over the files and directories on your account. MySQL and PostgreSQL databases can also be created and managed without the use of the command-line interface.
- Software installation
With the Softaculous automatic installer, you can set up one of over 400 website building applications in less than a minute. If you use WordPress or Joomla, you have specialized tools that boost your productivity and improve your site security.
- Domains and subdomains
Setting up domains and subdomains, editing their DNS settings, and even integrating Cloudflare into your website is as easy as clicking the mouse a few times.
- Security
The unique SShield security system is integrated into SPanel. It monitors your site in real time and can block almost all known attacks.
The summary above barely scratches the surface of what SPanel can do. The management platform is under constant development, and its deployment in a shared hosting environment will introduce it to many new users who will undoubtedly help us make it even better and more powerful.
